While we were away my new Wifey spotted a small picture of a cartoony purple moose with an apple on it’s head. Needless to say she wanted it. However I didn’t see the point when I thought I could produce better. I am always making claims like that but this is the first time I’ve actually followed up on one. Armed with my new set of coloured pencils I set about creating an apple endowed moose of purple persuasion for my lady love.

Is the finished product better than our original encounter? I have no idea. All we can remember about the one we saw was that it had a Purple Moose with an apple resting upon its brow… so in that respect I believe I have captured the essential essence. However… the original did not have a happy sheep gambolling playfully in the background and so with this addition to the piece I believe I have improved on the original concept.

Regardless, It amused the Wifey and so I feel the undertaking was a success. I hope it amuses you too and that you and the original artist will take this as it is meant, an honest tribute.
