I’ve been meaning to write this post for a while but life has been too frantic. I’ve had to put the comic on hold as right now I just can’t do it justice. I’m workings longer hours and also have a couple of projects I am working on that need all my attention. Unfortunately the most exciting one is concept art for a game. Which is awesome and I’m really happy with a lot of the stuff I’m doing but as yet can’t post any of it as we don’t want anyone nicking the idea. I do have a couple of other things I’m working on that when done I can post here… the problem is just time. I don’t seem to have any spare. I didn’t want to stop the comic but something had to go and it was the only thing that could. Oh well. I’m getting back on track a bit more now so hopefully I can start up the sketches again… Won’t that be nice.

After the Autumn Tree last week I haven’t had a chance to do any more sketches as we had a couple of new people at work that I had to train. So, since once again I have nothing to post on a Monday I thought I’d tell you what I’ve been up to even if I can’t show you yet.
I have just finished (this morning) a poster for a local play some of my friends are involved in, I’m doing some concept art for a game some other friends are making and I’m doing design and concept art for Rebel-Empire.
Written out like that it doesn’t sound like much but it really is… 
The good news is I’ve managed to swap out the shift at work that was giving me so much trouble and if I can keep my current hours I’m hopeful I can get some sort of regular update schedule going again. So fingers crossed.
Status on the latest page is that it’s been written and planned out and I have a day off tomorrow get a good chunk of it done. In the mean time go look at this. It’s Awesome!

Gah! No Sketch, no comic page even started let alone done. I’ve taken on another project and still failing to adjust to new stuff at work aswell. With so much going on the poor comic is the thing that’s suffering, all my other projects have other people relying on me so I can’t just put them off (for long). The most annoying thing is that I’m starting to do some really freaking awesome stuff for my latest project but as it’s concept art I can’t really show you untill I know what will and won’t be used.
So yeah… I guess the title of this post is a lie. It should have been “No Time.” The silver lining is I’m learning a lot and I’m hoping that it will help me with the comic. Only time will tell.

Boy I’m sucking at this updating thing at the moment! No sketch last week and now it’s late Monday night and I still haven’t finished the page! As it is, work will keep me from finishing it tomorrow so the earliest it’ll be up will be Wednesday… but realistically I’d just come back Friday.
My current excuse is that a new facet to my job has thrown a massive spanner in my timetable for the last couple of weeks and I’m still adjusting to it. Till I do please bear with me, I promise it’ll be worth it.
*cries in order to illicit feelings of sympathy from the reader*
Seriously though, come back Friday. It’s been challenging but I really like the way page 40 is turning out and I promise that you’ll definitely find out where Clunt’s apple is. Can’t say fairer than that eh?

So it’s just come to my attention that I never actually informed you, my awesome readers, of my update plans for this year. After the discovery of just how pathetic a number of comic pages I managed to post last year. 5. 
I vowed to you that this year I would do better… but forgot to tell you how much better. So here it is. This year my plan is to post something every Monday, and every four weeks that post will be a new Mighty Viking page. This will happen until I have built up a sufficient backlog of pages that I reckon I’ll be able to sustain fortnightly updates. One day I may even go weekly.
So far this year I haven’t missed a comic page although I have missed two other mondays. Still, I think I’m doing ok given how insanely busy it’s been. Hope that explains it all and thanks again for reading.

Aaargh… So much for posting something every Monday. To those of you who believed I could and would, many sorries. I am flat out at the moment with a couple of projects that have actual deadlines and so can’t be put off. I also don’t have any old sketches left that I like enough to post. What’s worse is that Swancon is less than 6 weeks away now and I haven’t even started my planned piece for the art show either. *sigh*
The good news is that page 37 of the comic is over half done so there should be no problem with that going up on time.
Next Monday I shall post something awesome to make up for this week… I have no idea what it will be, but it will be Awesome.

Oh look, yesterday was Monday. What a way to start the year but unfortunately I am flat out with a project that I’ve been promising to do for a couple of months and now suddenly has a deadline. Let’s hope this is the only time I miss a Monday this year…

So here I am at the beginning of another year having just skimmed through all my posts for 2008 and I am appalled. In the entire year, all 12 months of it, I managed to post a grand total of 5, that’s right 5, Mighty Viking pages. That’s not Mighty that’s pathetic, I am so very ashamed. Here and now I vow that this year you shall get at least… 6. Although I sincerely hope it’s more and shall do my best to make it so. On the bright side I think my art skills are improving. I just need to focus…

I know there hasn’t been a new page in a while, a fact that has been pissing me off no end. I have my shiny tablet sitting there in front of me day in, day out, but there has been no time. I’ve had a bunch of other projects that had to be done and a sick Wifey to contend with. Hell there’s been no gaming even!! … Except for Braid… I made the mistake of getting it. But it’s ok, that only took a few hours total and I’ve finished it now and am not insane enough to attempt the speed trials. I’ll leave that to Wifey.
Anyway… the point is, Worry Not! Although there hasn’t been any spare time for “digital” comic work, my paid employment is of such a nature that I get to spend half my time there drawing in my sketchbook. The end result is the next 3 pages all pencilled and scanned. Ready for just one freaking day off… I don’t know exactly when that will be. But it will be soon.
Till then more sketches and hopefully some pocket Ninja.
